Chef Hiroyuki “Zama” Tanaka
Under the leadership of one of the most deeply knowledgeable and revered sushi chefs in Philadelphia, Zama has been bringing the rich culinary traditions of Japan to the city since 2009. And for over a decade Chef Zama has remained passionate about his love for his craft.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of a la carte fish flown in from around the world that changes daily, along with a large selection of specialty Maki and a sushi bar crafted from only the finest ingredients.
Our bar is stocked with a variety of sake-from the finest, smoothest Daiginjoto the big round Umami Kimoto. Chef Zama also collaborated with Nanbubijin to create our own private sake, Drunken Zama. The restaurant also features sake from Chef Zama’s hometown sake brewer Izumibashi Shuzo.
Not only does the restaurant have the largest selection of Japanese whiskey in Philadelphia and a vast selection of Japanese Shochu and beers; we also feature wines from around the world that are carefully selected to pair with meals and enhance the dining experience.
In addition to our daily restaurant service, we offer a variety of catering platters, for groups large and small, for pick up or delivery throughout most of Center City. We are also available for private parties and corporate events. Past and current partnerships include Corporate tailgates, The Fitler Club and The Four Seasons Philadelphia.
