Hi there! My name is Merida, and I created my namesake company a few years ago after planning weddings for years as a side pursuit. I come from a corporate background- I’ve planned events for London & New York Fashion Week and Fortune 500 companies. I accidentally fell into this because I worked in public relations. As my coworkers in the department started getting married, I realized that weddings were a ton of fun.
I decided to found my own company after I saw how other brides were getting ridiculed for their wedding ideas. I myself even ran into this issue in planning my own wedding! I wanted (and want!) to provide professional quality events for people that were off the beaten path- like me. I love bringing in my clients’ personalities, whether it’s finding Captain Picard’s captain’s chair, or sneaking your favorite tv show into your vows.
Events By Merida has open doors, open arms, and open minds. The team is certified by Equally Wed as LGBTQ+ providers. We also take the time to make sure that the vendors we work with are also LGBTQ+ enthusiasts. Love is love, and we want you to feel loved by your wedding vendors, too.
