This is an amazing dim sum and Chinese restaurant! The soup dumplings were great the shrimp was delicious The spicy chicken was amazing. Really a great experience overall. When we got there the line was out the door which was always a good sign however it moved quickly. Just remember to bring cash as they don't take credit cards however they have an ATM machine at the front door. I highly recommend this place it was fantastic! The Boba drink was excellent! 👍 👌

The absolute best DimSum I have ever had. The crab and pork soup dumplings were perfection. The diced chicken with hot pepper (mala chili chicken) was hands down the hit at the table. Surprise item of the night was the pan fried spicy soup dumplings. The combo of textures really made them pop.

For the price, Dim Sum Garden is a glorious cascade of dumplings, steamed and fried, and Chinese delights, each tastier than the last. Served quickly by a very nice staff who made sure our experience was great. Even though we arrived only an hour before closing with a party of 8 and a packed restaurant they made room for us. We averaged about 35$ after tip per person, but every person left fully satisfied, and some a little stuffed. Would come here again in an instant. Do note that this place is Cash Only, but there is an ATM on site. A recommendation, if you're coming for a lot of dumplings etc, use the menu as a checklist and fill it out to give to your server, it made out ordering process much simpler.

Cash only! Dim sum was decent, some were interesting and just ok. Pork wonton in chili oil is a cold dish, not room temp but cold. This would be way better hot, and it doesn't look anything like the picture.

We got here and there were no less than 15 people waiting in line, but it moved rather quickly and they seat by party numbers and what they have available so smaller groups can be seated much sooner. My dad and I waited less than 15 minutes. Getting people in and out seems to be bigger priority, customer service wasn’t the best. They were incredibly efficient though. Waitress took our order and brought waters quickly, food was brought out as it was ordered, I ordered chicken dim sum and pan seared beef dim sum. The beef that was brought out was cold like it had been sitting there for awhile. The chicken dim sum was delicious as was the chicken on a stick. We had to ask another waiter for refills on water. My dad said the fried rice with chicken and shrimp was good, for the record, no sweet and sour sauce. It was ok, but not good enough that we’d go back.

    Our Story

Our story began in 2003 when head chef Shizhou Da came to the US with the original recipe for Xiao Long Bao —Chinese steamed soup dumplings. She is the 5th generation of the original chef who created the very first Xiao Long Bao in China and has over 30 years of experience in making fresh, traditional homemade Shanghai style dim sum.

After 5 years’ restaurant business in North Jersey and New York, Chef Shizhou Da and her daughter Sally decided to bring Shanghai’s finest dumplings to Philadelphia in 2013. They chose a great restaurant location in Philly Chinatown at 1020 Race Street and attracted more and more people to come to try a bite of Shanghai style dim sum.
