Feel The Blossom On The Philadelphia Flower Show

Did you know? Philadelphia holds the First public flower display in the United States.  The Philadelphia Horticulture Society has been putting on the Philadelphia Flower Show since 1829. The event usually attracts over 250,000 attendees from throughout the globe and raises $1 million for PHS programs that promote sustainability and increase health and well-being. Every March, the Philadelphia Flower Show, the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event, is presented inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center. But for the first time in the show’s almost two-hundred-year history, the exquisite floral arrangements will be displayed outside. From June 11-19, 2022, the Flower Show will once again be held outdoors in South Philadelphia’s expansive Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park (FDR Park), directly linking spectators with one of Philadelphia’s most beloved green places.

This year’s International Festival and Events Association honors recognized the Philadelphia Flower Show with a silver Grand Pinnacle Award ($3M+) in second place behind Australia’s Destination NSW. Thus, the Philadelphia Flower Show has crowned North America’s premier cultural event.

The design of the Show will undergo a major overhaul in 2022! Guests will queue up to have their Show tickets scanned at one of two paved guest entrance routes. The Flower Show’s employees will post information about line wait times along the walkways for the benefit of visitors. Those who have leased or wish to rent mobility equipment for the Flower Show should leave it at the park’s entrance at 1500 Pattison Ave. A mobility equipment rental center will be established near the park entrance for the 2022 Show, and shuttles will run continuously to provide tourists with conveyance from the park entrance to the rental equipment site. Blossom the happiness and join the fun!

Cheers and have a good time during the Philly Beer Week!

Brewhouses have been operating in Philadelphia since the 17th century when founder William Penn provided specific instructions for constructing a brewhouse at his farm in Bucks County.  Philadelphia is one of the top beer cities in the US. There were many breweries and malt houses in the colony, and the city’s suds were quickly gaining national renown, with Philadelphia beer being compared favorably to England’s time-honored ales. A lot of the American Revolution was kicked off by those amber-colored ales. As early as 1793, Philadelphia was producing more beer per capita than any other American city.

Craft beer in Philadelphia is still thriving today. Philly Beer Week is the largest celebration of beer in the United States, and it’s taking place in Philadelphia. The commemoration is a great time to get together with your friends and drink some suds in the City of Brotherly Love, where brewers have been making beer for more than three centuries.

There are hundreds of beer-related events held each spring as part of Philly Beer Week, the largest beer festival in the United States. These events include anything from festivals to dinners to tours to pub crawls to beer tasting to meet-the-brewer events. Beer tastings and pairings, competitions, and, of course, plenty of happy hour specials at pubs and restaurants throughout the city are all part of the 10-day festival, which runs from June 10 to June 16. Philadelphia Beer Week will take place from June 3 – 12, 2022.

See? There are a lot of great things to do in Philly! No wonder it was hailed as Condé Nast Traveler and TIME a top destination for 2021, and the city’s global appeal is expected to continue in 2022.
